COVID-19: BANGLADESH RECORDS 37 DEATHS, 3,240 NEW CASES IN ANOTHER 24 HOURS

Health authorities in Bangladesh have recorded 37 new Covid-19 deaths and 3,240 fresh cases between Friday and Saturday mornings.

With the latest figure, the number of total confirmed cases climbed to 108,775 and the death toll rose to 1,425.

In the last 24-hour span, 1,048 Covid-19 patients also recovered - taking the number of total recoveries since March, when the pandemic entered the country, to 43,993.

During the same 24 hours, 13,779 samples were collected and a total of 14,031 tests were conducted.

Prof Nasima Sultana, an additional director general (Administration) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), revealed the latest figures from Dhaka on Saturday afternoon, in a daily online bulletin on the country’s Covid-19 situation.

However, in a new development, she said details regarding all latest data would be given to the media in a press release later in the day.
