GONOSHASTHAYA KIT NOT EFFECTIVE TO TRACE COVID-19: BSMMU VC

The Covid-19 antibody testing kit developed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra was not found effective on the patients with Covid-19 symptoms, said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Kanak Kanti Barua.
He made the disclosure in press briefing on Wednesday.
Earlier on March 17, Gonoshasthaya announced that they developed a testing kit that could examine samples to detect Covid-19 within 15 minutes, but they had yet to get the approval of the authorities concerned.
Later on April 30, the DGDA allowed the organisation to get its kits tested. Later, the BSMMU started conducting performance trials of the kit.
