The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Tuesday rejected India’s objection to display of Pakistan’s new political map claiming that the map wrongfully shows ‘sovereign Indian territories’ as part of Pakistan.

The SCO held an online meeting of National Security advisors where India objected to the political map of Pakistan being used as background display by Special Assistant to PM on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Dr. Moeed Yusuf.

Pakistan replied to India of how it could not claim the internationally recognized disputed territories as ‘sovereign Indian territories’ and how the map did not include any part of India nullifying India’s baseless claims.

“I highlighted that unilateral & illegal actions in an internationally recognized disputed territory of IIOJK is a threat to regional peace & prosperity. I also apprised counterparts of Pak’s deep commitment to peace in Afghanistan through an Afghan led & owned peace process” SAPM Moeed said.

The SCO sided with Pakistan and its stance of how the internationally recognized disputed territories cannot be a part of India and unilateral actions by India are a threat to the peace and stability of the region.

Pakistan held that the map was a symbol of the aspirations and rights of the Kashmiri people who have been granted the right of plebiscite under the UN resolution of Kashmir, to which Pakistan is fully committed and will not stand for the rights of Kashmiri people being invalidated.

SAPM Moeed took to twitter to mark the distasteful actions of his Indian counterpart who decided to walk out of the meeting during Pakistan and Russia’s speech and how his actions left a bad taste in the mouth for all members of the SCO, “a forum whose whole spirit is cooperation.”
